Fundamentals of
Kahuna
Bodywork

13 – 15 September 2024

What you will learn in this workshop

Over the three days we will teach you the martial art based movements of Ka’alele’au, which are the foundation of Kahuna Bodywork and Kahuna Sciences teachings.

Bringing together aspects of Hula Kahiko and the Hawaiian martial art of Lua, Kahu Abraham Kawai’i (the creator of Kahuna Bodywork) developed Ka’aleleau or “flying” as a way of teaching ancient Hawaiian principles and the skills of the Kahuna in a way that could be understood by modern students. Similar in some ways to Qigong, Ka’alele’au is a series of movements that allow us to feel and direct Ki energy as well as giving us a deeper understanding of self and our connection with all things.

You will also learn how these movements are applied within Kahuna Bodywork and how we build and direct Ki energy both within ourselves and with clients.

Is this workshop for me?

This workshop is for complete beginners and experienced students. The nature of our teaching enables individual instruction within the group and allows for students to progress at their own pace.

About Kahuna Bodywork

Kahuna Bodywork (Lomi Ka’aleleau) is a flowing and dynamic form of massage-like therapy. Kahuna Bodywork uses sensitivity and long flowing strokes to provide a space for clients to experience healing and wellbeing for themselves.

Drawing on principles and teachings from the Hawaiian martial art of Lua and Hula Kahiko, Kahuna Bodywork is more than just a massage modality, it is a way of life. Practitioners are taught to use rhythm, leverage and motion to facilitate change right down to a cellular level within the body.

Workshop outcomes

If you are new to Kahuna Sciences you will learn the fundamental principles and practices that underpin Kahuna Bodywork and how they can be applied in everyday life and towards a deeper understanding of yourself.

As a more experienced practitioner you will deepen and refine your understanding of the foundational principles found within Ka’alele’au that are at the core of Kahuna Sciences teachings and the key self mastery.
